About Hinton, OK - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Hinton is a small Oklahoma town nestled on Highway 281 a few minutes from I-40. This Caddo County community is home to about 2,200 residents and is located about 50 miles west of Oklahoma City. The most notable business in the town is arguably the Sugar Creek Casino, which is located just off of 1-40 in Hinton, it is a business of the local Wichita and other affiliated tribes.

When it comes to tourism in Hinton, Red Rock State Park is one of the major attractions of the area. The park is located about a mile south of the downtown area, and due to the impressive canyon cliff formations, it is a favorite location of rappellers from across the country. Picnicking, fishing, hiking, and fishing are all allowed, as is overnight camping. The area is especially popular during the fall months when the leaves change colors, but considering that the park has a swimming pool with two water slides, it is also a popular destination during the summer months.

Hinton has a humid subtropical climate, meaning that the weather can vary frequently with the season or even with the day. The one season where the climate is relatively consistent is the summer, although that means that it is consistently hot and humid. The community often experiences severe droughts, and in July average daily high temperatures tend to reach the mid-90s. With minimal break from the heat, residents rely heavily on their central air conditioning units to make it through these months.

The winter months are milder than other parts of the country, but with consistent northerly winds, cold periods can be intensified. Snowstorms and ice storms occur periodically, but annual snowfall totals only average at about 8 inches. Home heating systems are still important because of the low temperatures and will keep interior conditions comfortable throughout the season.
