About New Cordell, OK - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

New Cordell is a Washita County city that is located along U.S. Route 183 in the State of Oklahoma. As of 2010, nearly 3,000 people called this community home. The town is often simply called Cordell, being named after a postal service employee in Washington D.C. by the name of Wayne W. Cordell. This community was founded in 1892 after a general store was opened about 1.5 miles east from the present town, and it consists of about 2.5 square miles of total area.

There are a few notable attractions located in New Cordell. History buffs may enjoy a trip to the Washita County Museum, which displays artifacts from the days of old. For visitors who might enjoy something more modern, the Washita Theatre is located southeast of the square, and it offers a variety of movies, including 3D options. Golf is available at local Crooked Creek Golf Course, and other options include Hobart Country Club and the Weatherford Golf Course in neighboring communities. New Cordell also hosts Christmas in the Park each winter, featuring lights and other activities for the whole family.

New Cordell residents need to be prepared for a variety of different weather conditions throughout the year, and an experienced HVAC technician can help to get the appropriate climate controls into place. January is the coldest month of the year, with average high temperatures only reaching the upper-40s. Snow and ice storms are strong possibilities, and residents take advantage of their heat pump or furnace systems to ensure pipes and plumbing don’t freeze during the coldest times.

Six months later, home heating systems are far from the minds of New Cordell residents. Conditions are extremely hot and very humid, with high temperatures often reaching the mid-90s or even warmer. Without a central air conditioning unit at home, the high temperatures and heat indices could become dangerous.
