About Eakly, OK - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Eakly is a small Caddo County town with fewer than 350 residents. This Oklahoma community is also small geographically, only consisting of about 0.26 square miles of total area. Eakly is located about 75 miles west of Oklahoma City near the communities of Weatherford and Bridgeport. Professional baseball player Mike Moore, who won the World Series with the Oakland Athletics in 1989, was born and raised in Eakly.
With only about 330 residents living here, Eakly isn’t home to any major attractions. There are a few specialty shops found in the community, like Eakly Flower and Gifts and Etta’s Beauty Shop, but there are other interesting things to see and do in the immediate vicinity. Golf fans may enjoy trips to the Fort Cobb Golf Course in neighboring Fort Cob or the Sugar Creek Canyon Golf Club in Hinton. Red Rock Canyon State Park in neighboring Hinton is also a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Weather conditions in Eakly are varied throughout the season, which is common with a humid subtropical zone. The winters are typically cool, brief, and relatively dry, but since mean temperatures in January only reach the upper 30s, home furnace systems are crucial for staying safe and comfortable throughout the season.
The spring months can be dangerous in the area, as severe thunderstorms with tornadoes are common. In June, this severe weather threat tends to subside, but the summer months are hot and humid with highs well into the 90s. It is recommended the Eakly area residents use the springtime to have their central air conditioning units serviced to ensure they will run at optimal efficiency when they are needed. Likewise, the autumn months tend to be fairly calm both in terms of temperature and weather patterns, so this is a good time to have furnace and heat pump systems checked out to prepare for the winter months.
